Ratepayers Present Petition Against Secondary Plan to Council

Tonight over 200 residents of Midhurst showed up to support the Ratepayers Association as they  presented the petition to Springwater Council.  The Ratepayers collected over 1400 signatures from concerned citizens who oppose the Midhurst Secondary Plan.  The MRA prepared a presentation and asked Council  to formally provide answers on a number of pressing concerns regarding the plan.  Check out the presentation by clicking the following link: MRA-presentation-Springwater-April-16

 

Citizens cheered when the Ratepayers asked Council to repeal the Secondary Plan and start fresh with a more democratically inclusive and transparent planning process. The crowd also showed their overwhelming support when the Ratepayers asked Council to stop spending hard earned tax dollars on legal fees supporting a plan that many residents do not want!

Several  concerned citizens brought signs and created t-shirts to spread their message.  A huge thank you goes out to all those who attended tonight and helped to create a greater awareness of the extensive community opposition to the Secondary Plan.
